29e1 mixture control 2 n5412/7/2023 Unfortunately, the code doesn’t explain what exactly is causing the fuel mixture issue. In other words, your engine is having trouble with creating the optimal air/fuel mixture. I'm only getting those two codes, no "P" codes, not seeing any smoke in the engine bay, temperatures are normal. The 29E1 BMW code indicates a Fuel mixture control 2 error. NOT familiar with Turbo engine, N54, JUST a SWAG, Also looking for smoke (dark due to over-rich) from Bank 2 tailpipe under WOT conditions (someone following) would be helpful. 4 - 6), and if your Freeze Frame Data suggests the 29E1 code ONLY occurs when at boost conditions (clear code & test for SES light, read Code/ FF Data), then that increases likelihood of manifold leak on Bank 2. If those are the ONLY codes (NO sensor codes) then my SWAG would be that Bank 2 is TOO RICH due to a leak in the intake manifold related to one of the cylinders in Bank 2 (cyl. If your scan tool will give Definition for 29E1, or a P-code (P0174 too Lean, or P0175 too Rich, BOTH Bank 2) then we would have a little better idea what the issue is. Tempted to clear the code and see if it comes back. The car drives completely fine, no problems with turbos, spoil fine, boost is felt for sure.Īny idea what the problem is? I think the car could use new plugs and coils (69k miles), but could be 02 sensors maybe? Just hope it's not injectors. If you’re getting this code along with 29E1 (fuel mixture control 2) then you’ve got AFR issues on both banks. Fuel injectors are another common problem that triggers this code. Faulty O2 sensors may trigger fuel mixture control 1 codes. I pulled codes and got 29E1 (mixture control 2) and 30FC (turbocharger, charge-air pressure too low: leak-tightness). Fault code 29E0 can be a tuning related or hardware issue. Pretty sure it has more than the bentley ones.07 e93 335i.SES light. Its setting a check engine light and throwing a few codes 2D06 air-mass system, 29E1 mixture control 2, & 29E0 mixture control. Thanks for any help you guys can offer. This has been my bible for repairs on my car, I know about the Bentley manuals, are these the best available for the BMW? The alldata manuals show the factory troubleshooting trees for service codes and that's the sort of thing I'm after, the troubleshooting steps. I'm just wondering if a boost/vacuum leak is a likely cause or if I need to be looking at the MAP and/or maybe an injector problem?Īlso, for my F250, I can get a copy of the actual Ford factory service manual from or eBay. I have a smoke machine to run a smoke test on it but haven't done so yet. I've visually looked for boost/vacuum leaks, checked the charge pipe, etc and don't see anything obvious. It's now showingĢD2E (Angle of throttle valve - intake pipe underpressure) I got it back a month or so ago and it's worse now than before with some new codes and the SES light is now coming on. This went on for a few weeks and my daughter crunched the front bumper so it went into the body shop. I switch from MAP5 to MAP0 and it helped some. The car would stumble and I'd get the reduced power 1/2 engine and I could tell it wasn't boosting correctly but, driven mildly, the codes wouldn't appear and driveability was fine. This has been going on for a year months now (the car was in the body shop for 10 months of that time, I haven't been driving it) and has gotten progressively worse.
